Common questions about the beta period and the Free tier.
- What Is RiichiHub?
- RiichiHub is a platform for Riichi Mahjong clubs to track games, run leaderboards, calculate ratings, and manage leagues in one place. We are in beta while we refine the product with early club and player feedback.
- I Don't Run a Club, Can I Still Use RiichiHub?
- Yes. RiichiHub is built for anyone looking for a way to track their Riichi Mahjong games - even if it's just for you and a small group of friends. Create an org, add members, and start tracking games together.
- What Does Beta Mean?
- Beta means RiichiHub is live and usable, but we are still shipping improvements and may adjust limits or app behavior as we learn from our early users. During the beta period, uptime and features should be treated as "best effort" while we stabilize the product.
- How Long Will the Beta Last?
- We're here to make the best product for Riichi Mahjong clubs and players, and we're taking this beta seriously. The beta period continues while we improve reliability and features based on real-world usage and feedback. We want to make a product that our users will find is worth paying for, and we're not going to rush it.
- Is the Free Tier Really Free? Do I Need a Credit Card?
- Yes — during beta, new organizations are on the Free tier at no charge. You do not need a credit card to sign up.
- What Limits Apply on the Free Tier?
- During beta, the Free tier includes 1 active table at a time, 1 league per organization, up to 30 games per month, up to 10 active players in your organization roster, leaderboard, game and hand entry, standard scoring and rating, and game history. If you outgrow these limits, contact our team directly or wait for paid tiers which offer higher caps when they launch.
- What Counts as an "Active Table"?
- An active table means one concurrent game that can be recorded or live-spectated within the app. On the Free (beta) tier you can run one at a time (i.e. the current game being played must be complete before you can start a another one); when paid plans launch, higher tiers will allow more concurrent tables (i.e. you can have multiple games being played at the same time).
- Why Can't I Upgrade to Club, Studio, or Professional Yet?
- Paid plans are not open for purchase during beta. The pricing section shows what Club, Studio, and Professional tiers may include when they launch. These are previews of what we will offer and are subject to change as we refine the product.
- What If I Stop Using RiichiHub? How Do I Cancel My Free Subscription?
- If RiichiHub is not a fit for you, you can simply stop using it. We will monitor activity closely throughout the beta and will regularly deactivate or delete organizations that appear unused so we can keep our free service sustainable. When an organization is cleaned up due to inactivity, its data in RiichiHub (games, roster, and related history) may be removed or no longer accessible. There is no need to cancel your free subscription.
- Is RiichiHub Web-Based or Do I Need to Install Anything?
- RiichiHub is a progressive web application (PWA) — no app store download required. We recommend installing it on mobile devices for an app-like experience. You can find instructions on how to install a PWA for your mobile device (iOS or Android) with a quick browser search. Native mobile apps (App Store and/or Google Play) are planned for a future release.
- What Riichi Rules Does RiichiHub Support?
- RiichiHub is being developed with modern standard Japanese rules. Configurable rule settings are planned for future releases.
- What Happens When Beta Ends and/or Paid Subscription Tiers Launch?
- Before we launch paid subscription tiers, we will email users and publish timelines so you know what is changing and when. Organizations that started on a Free subscription during our beta period will see upgrade options, information about how billing works, and a one-time early adopter discount that will be applied to their first paid subscription.
